Join our Lampshade Making Workshop with Lume Lighting and every time you flick the switch you’ll be able to admire your own handiwork and a design that’s all of your own choosing. Lume Lighting is the brainchild of Joanna Corney, a maker and designer who has run her homeware business for several years. Lume was born out of Joanna’s passion for creating bespoke handmade lampshades – a passion she now shares with others through her lampshade making workshops, based at her lovely working studio by the sea, in Hove.

A CREATIVE DAY OUT

February’s workshop is being held exclusively for The Simple Things readers and is ideal for beginners who want to learn the craft of contemporary lampshade making. You will be given all the skills you need to make your very own custom shade, meeting like-minded people and eating some delicious food along the way.

You will make either a 20cm or 30cm diameter fabric drum lampshade, which can be used on a lamp base or ceiling pendant. By the end of the workshop you will get to go home with your very own bespoke lampshade – possibly the first of many more beautiful customised shades.
