Favourite market OSLO STREET FOOD
A cool street food market that recently opened in an old public baths. Pick a meal from food stalls from all over the world, then sit where you want. oslo-streetfood.no
Favourite hotel AMERIKALINJEN I could easily stay and explore the hotel instead of the city. amerikalinjen.com Way to spend an hour
People-watching with a cup of coffee at one of our many cafés – or walking next to the sea in Tjuvholmen or Bjørvika. Place to see by night
SMELTEVERKET
Next to the river, in the basement of Mathallen, a kind of food hall. The view looks out onto the water, which is beautiful by night, lit up with florescent lights. smelteverketoslo.no
Best view
The hike up to Grefsenkollen is rewarded with one of the nicest views of the Oslo fjord and its islands. The metro up to Holmenkollen also has a wonderful view of the fjord – sit on the left side of the tram.
One thing you must see
Oslo’s Venezia – a new quarter of apartments in Bjørvika. Here you can spot locals taking their boats to their door.
