A simple thing...
One of the best things about winter is the views opened up by bare trees and an often monochrome landscape. It’s also easier to spot wildlife – think tracks in mud or snow and less leaves for birds or squirrels to hide in. Admittedly, you’re only likely to see everyone’s favourite – a red squirrel – raiding a bird feeder if you live in parts of northern England, Scotland, Anglesey or the Isle of Wight, but there are plenty of other creatures to enliven any afternoon walk.
