Glögg
Start the evening with an aromatic glass of Swedish mulled wine.
Serves 6
1 bottle of red wine 2 tbsp caster sugar
Zest of half an orange 1 tbsp cardamom pods 2in piece of fresh ginger 6 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 lemon
1 Combine all the ingredients, except the lemon, in a large saucepan and bring to a gentle boil.
2 Allow to simmer for 20 mins, then take off the heat and leave the flavours to steep for 30 mins.
3 Gently reheat to serve, adding a slice of lemon to each glass.
