CALLY SIMPSON is still fighting for her life three weeks after being discovered unconsciou­s at the bottom of a swimming pool.

In a split second her family’s dream sunshine break turned into a nightmare.

As our reporters discovered, this wasn’t a one off.

Dozens of lives have been lost because of loose safety measures at holiday hotels.

It can’t be right that time after time these accidents are ignored. It’s time to address the problem before another tragedy occurs.

Now she’s being heavily tipped for promotion to the Cabinet just two weeks after returning from maternity leave in a reshuffle that could take place as soon as tomorrow.

However she didn’t think about retiring for long.

In an exclusive interview with The Sunday Post on her return to work she explained: “You have your odd moments when you’ve got a bit of maternal bliss at the times when there’s not the projectile vomiting and the explosive nappies and you’ve got those really lovely gorgeous moments and your child is giggling away.

“There’s been times I thought it would be really nice not to come back, but not seriously.”

Six months after giving birth to baby Andrew she started her first day back this month with an early morning appearance on TV talking about Coalition plans to extend parents’ rights to flexible working.

She finished her first week back with an appearance on Question Time.
