Lucky Starr is still a style icon at 74!

-

peace and love movement started. This movement is something that started six years ago.

“I’m just glad I get to be a male model!”

I got to wish Ringo a happy birthday — from Great Britain and Cilla Black herself.

Ringo just laughed and told me Cilla was actually at his 21st birthday party back in 1961.

Since he was looking so sprightly, I had to ask him what age he felt, too.

He claimed he felt he was still 24 – and I’mnot surprised, he’s still got that youthful charm. Good on Ringo.

When John Lennon was asked if he thought Ringo Starr was the best drummer in the world, he made one of the most memorable quips of all time.

“He’s not even the best drummer in The Beatles,” was his cutting reply.

It was typical of John Lennon’s caustic wit – and poor Ringo’s reputation has struggled to recover.

But I doubt Lennon genuinely didn’t rate the drummer from the Fab Four.

He’s actually rated very highly by his fellow musicians.

I spoke to Joe Walsh of The Eagles, and Paul Stanley, of Kiss, about Ringo and his talents last week, and they couldn’t praise his drumming skills enough.

Meanwhile, it’s great to see his fellow Beatle PaulMcCartney on stage again.

There were fears the 74- year- old would have to cancel his world tour after he contracted a virus — but he bounced back with a storming set in NewYork.

Macca also found the time to play the matchmaker, too.

During his epic set, he spotted a couple holding two signs.

One said her boyfriend would only get married once he’d met his hero, McCartney.

Meanwhile, the boyfriend said he had a ring — and that he was 64.

Fair play to Paul, he interrupted his set and invited the pair on stage. He proposed to her and she said yes.

What an anti- climax it would have been if she’d said no, right enough!

I’ma bit too young to have been into The Beatles, but I did grow up with Wings and Paul’s solo stuff.

So it was great to see McCartney play live a couple of years ago.

He played for three hours straight without needing a break – he didn’t stop running around, playing the guitar and singing his lungs out.

And bear in mind Paul was 64 . . . a decade ago.

I think when I grow up, I want to be like John or Ringo.

DOLLY Parton promised she will adopt a dog abandoned at Glastonbury if the owner is not found. Dolly the Dog, named in honour of the star, was found in a tent during the clean-up of the festival in Somerset. Parton has said she’ll take care of the dog and is considering moving it to her

home inTennessee. This pooch might need to watch out. If I know anything about country music, it’s that dogs always end

up running away or dying…
