WE’RE always warned of the global threat of Islamic terrorism.

But thousands of American football fans travelled to Brazil for the World Cup where they mingled with supporters from Iran, Algeria and Nigeria.

Of course, there was no trouble between Muslims and supporters of “The Great Satan”.

Indeed, Iran’s fans included Jews from Israel’s 90,000 strong community of Iranian descent.

Brazil proved that people of different nations and creeds bond. But only once they get away from pot-stirrers trying to make enemies of them. But they have omitted to add Birkenhead and Barrow- on- Furness yards where all the nuclear submarines were built to their list.

Is it not a little strange that none of these yards south of the border are considered capable of demolishin­g any of the highly dangerous nuclear submarines, which according to MoD minister Philip Hammond, has now been foisted on Rosyth – in Scotland.
