Thistle manager Alan Archibald said: “A few of the trialists are here for a couple of days and some are just here for the day.
“It’s a hard market. Everybody is looking for the same players and we are competing with an English market that can afford a lot more than ourselves.”
Bryan Prunty scored for Dumbarton just two minutes after coming on when he headed home a Jordan Kirkpatrick cross.
