Tonight At The Games
BBC1, 10.40pm
If South Africa’s Olympic champion, Chad le Clos, wins the Commonwealth 200m Butterfly title this evening, then stand by for an emotional reunion between Clare Balding and one of the special men in her life. After Chad’s win at London 2012, Clare conducted a memorable interview with his emotional father, Bert. Not realising he was live on air, he repeatedly told viewers how beautiful his son was and how unbelievable his performance had been (justifiable, as he’d just snatched victory from American Michael Phelps in the last stroke of the race). It turned Bert, as well as his son, into a celebrity back home. A repeat performance is surely on the cards if Chad does his stuff today. If not, with medals also on offer in track cycling and triathlon, it’s sure to be an action-packed round-up of the day’s events.
BBC2, 8.25pm
