Have I overdosed on

-

I RECENTLY found out I’ve been taking double the recommended amount of multi-vitamin tablets. Have I damaged myself?

No, there is quite a large scope of latitude for these vitamins and you will have done yourself no harm by taking twice the recommended daily dose. If you revert to the standard dose – which I suspect you have already done – no harm will have occurred. I HAVE a soft, fleshy bump on my sternum that comes and goes every so often. My doctor said it’s nothing to worry about, but can I do something to keep it away for good?

This sounds like a cyst of some description because of the way that it waxes and wanes. Treatment of cysts is essentially by surgery and it sounds possible that it might be possible to excise this lesion – but you would swap the bump for a scar. FOR the past couple of months I have had a recurring huge white lump on my left tonsil. I have no pain or discomfort at all and it generally goes away after one or two weeks. Should I be worried?

Small white lumps on tonsils are not uncommon but large white lumps are. Since this is new, I think it would be worthwhile showing the white lump to your doctor just to have it diagnosed – he or she will be able to reassure you. I SUFFER with irritating sinus pressure at my temples, behind my eyes, top of my head, and my nose. The doctor gave me a spray but it doesn’t help, can I try anything else?

It sounds like you are suffering from an allergic condition of your upper airways. Antihistamine medication may be helpful, or a perhaps a short period of use of a nasal decongestant such as xylometazoline. If that doesn’t help, speak to your GP again. I USE my laptop on my lap, but a friend said this is bad for your body
