Hitman has Celts in his sights

-

LEGIA WARSAW hit man Miroslav Radovic hopes to continue his prolific early-season form against Celtic.

With three goals to his name against St Patrick’s Athletic, the 30-year-old Serbian international striker is the main threat to Ronny Deila’s men.

“It’s very difficult to get into form so early but I am pleased with the way I have started,” he said.

“The team has been the same, losing narrowly the first League game of the campaign and then recovering so well in the Champions League against the Irish side.

“We didn’t play on the counter-attack in Ireland. We dominated possession and showed that we had improved greatly from the first leg.

“We won the Championship by 10 points last season.

“So we are determined that supreme effort will not be followed by anything but our best on the European stage.

“It is very important for our club financially to get through, not to mention the ambition that is in the players to get as far in the tournament as we can.

“Celtic are a great name in European football, of that there’s no doubt.

“But right now they are in a period of transition, having just changed their manager.

“Perhaps that can help us in this qualifying tie, with such a big prize at stake.

“One thing is for sure. We cannot give ourselves the task in the second leg that we did in the last round.

“To slip up in the first leg at our home ground, then have to win in Scotland, against a side like Celtic, will make life very tough.”

Miroslav didn’t say it, but the side managed by former Rangers defender Henning Berg will be well aware that Celtic have never been beaten at Murrayfield!
