FLEETWOOD were denied an impressive win over Sheffield United as Che Adams snatched an equaliser in controvers­ial circumstan­ces.

The Blades trailed 2- 1 when they were awarded a penalty in stoppageti­me at the end of the match, with Ryan Flynn clipped in the area by Amari’i Bell.

But there was a lengthy delay before Adams was free to convert the spotkick, as home keeper Chris Maxwell was struck by an object thrown from the crowd.

The visitors had opened the scoring, with Matt Done slotting the ball low past Maxwell.

The lead lasted just two minutes, though, as Ash Hunter nodded in.

The Cod Army then took the lead after Jimmy Ry a n’s f re e - k i c k w a s flicked in, via a post, by Marcus Nilsson.

Wigan Athletic suffered a frustratin­g afternoon as they were held to a 1- 1 draw at the DW Stadium by Peterborou­gh.

Will Grigg put the Latics ahead with 18 minutes to go, but Marcus Maddison’s free-kick drew Posh level.

A Steve Morison penalty and two defensive lapses by struggling Blackpool gifted Millwall a comfortabl­e 3- 0 victory at the New Den.

Lee Gregory put the Lions ahead with a simple header after a Carlos Edwards long throw was allowed to bounce in the visitors’ area after just seven minutes.

Jed Wa l l a c e then doubled Millwall’s lead with his first goal for the club when his 20- yard free- kick went straight through the visitors’ wall.

The rout was completed by Mor ison when he converted a penalty awarded for handball.

Blackpool’s miserable afternoon was completed w h e n Ha y d e n W h i t e received a second yellow card for a shirt- pull on Shane Ferguson.
