Wullie globe is snow joke

-

MEANWHILE, The Broons’ comic pal Oor Wullie is getting in on the action at the double.

Tomorrow sees the incredibly popular Oor Wullie Bucket Trail hit the Highlands.

After taking Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth by storm, the trail reaches Inverness.

A dozen of the sculptures will be unveiled at a couple of locations across the city.

“We’ve already had about 100,000 people hit the Trail to see the sculptures,” said Cassie Thompson, the ARCHIE Foundation’s director of fundraising. “It’s been phenomenal.” The sculptures are helping raise funds towards a £2 million appeal for a twin operating theatre paediatric surgical suite at Tayside Children’s Hospital.

They’ll be auctioned off on Tuesday, September 13.

And a novel Wullie is now chilling out at Ninewells Hospital.

The amazing snowglobe arrived yesterday and is delighting visitors who trigger flurries as they pass.

It was specially created by artist Debbie Lawson.

“I grew up with Oor Wullie and I’m still a big fan,” said Debbie.

Details on the fundraising efforts can be found at www. archiefoundationhome.org.uk and for more information on the trail go to www. oorwulliebuckettrail.com
