Winner ‘too lazy’ as kid

-

OLYMPIC gold medallist Mohamed Sbihi was too tall and too lazy to join his family’s barbershop business, according to his dad.

The 28-year-old athlete from Surbiton in southwest London followed in the footsteps of Team GB rowing heroes Sir Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent by taking gold in the men’s four on Friday.

But Sbihi’s father, also Mohamed, 60, said: “He wasn’t interested... he became too tall to use the broom properly. My customers used to call him Slow Moe.”
