Pint size pipers enjoy the Worlds
HERE’S two adorable tartan-clad scamps enjoying a piping extravaganza.
Lexi and Emily Donn, four and two, joined in the chanter banter as hundreds of enthusiasts descended on Glasgow Green to compete in the World Pipe Band Championships.
The two-day event, which pulls in more than 40,000 spectators, attracted 230 bands to battle it out for the coveted title.
Last year’s winners, Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia, were expected to run rivals close to retain their title.
The breathtaking action, which attracted bands from as far a field as Canada, the US, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, was streamed live on the internet.
The Lord Provost of Glasgow and Chieftain of the World Pipe Band Championships Sadie Docherty said it was a privilege for the city to host the event.
“Glasgow is proud to have such a long association with the championships,” she said.
