Top Gear producers stall on chef
CELEBRITY chef James Martin has revealed he has not been approached about replacing Chris Evans on BBC2 motoring series Top Gear.
Ratings for the show plummeted when Evans and a new cast of presenters replaced Jeremy Clarkson’s team.
The popular 44-year-old former Saturday Kitchen host is a well known car fanatic, and has made a motoring documentary before.
He said: “Apparently I’m the bookies’ favourite.
“I walked past a bookies in Leeds and saw my name on there, and I thought ‘What the hell’s going on there?’
“I was top of their list. But the phone hasn’t rung yet.”
