Extremists forced out
US-BACKED fighters now control the northern Syrian town of Manbij, which had been a stronghold of the Islamic State group
Nasser Haj Mansour of the Kurdish Syria Democratic Force said searches were being carried out for any extremists who might be hiding in the town.
The SDF launched its offensive in May to capture Manbij under the cover of US-led coalition air strikes.
