Ryan McCord goes from saint to sinner

-

Montrose were livelier in the first half and should have led after 28 minutes. Graham Webster was put clean through but pulled his shot wide of the target.

Arbroath scored in 33 minutes after a mistake by Andrew Steeves left Brian Prunty to cut the ball back for McCord to score.

Montrose missed another chance in 38 minutes when Ryan Ferguson raced clear but, again, he shot wide.

McCord was booked for a challenge on Kieran McWalter in 50 minutes, then, soon after, he pulled back Terry Masson to collect a second yellow card.

Montrose finally equalised in 77 minutes. Masson sent over a corner and Chris Templeman was on hand to score.

In added time, Kane Hester missed a chance to win it for 10-man Arbroath when he blazed the ball over.

FORFAR ATH 4 COWDENBEATH 3

FORFAR thought they had taken the lead in 15th minute when Jim Lister crashed a shot down off the bar but didn’t cross the line.

A minute later, Cowdenbeath’s Craig Sives thumped a half-volley into the top corner from 12 yards out.

Lister should have levelled when through but keeper David McGurn smothered. Lister then made amends with a headed equaliser in 20 minutes.

Three minutes later, Denholm fired the Loons ahead with a brilliant freekick from 22 yards.

Forfar made it 3-1 in the 51st minute as Josh Peters rolled the ball in.

But, in the 58th minute, the visitors pulled one back when Forfar keeper Grant Adam dropped a cross and Chris Turner hit the bar before Nickolay Todorov headed home.

After Dean Brett hit the post, the visitors looked to have rescued a point in the 79th minute when Lewis Moore fired home a 25-yard screamer.

But, with just three minutes left, Gavin Swankie smashed home a Lister knockback to claim all three points.

ELGIN CITY 3 EDINBURGH CITY 0

ON 17 minutes, Elgin’s Craig Gunn swapped passes with Chris McLeish, drew keeper Callum Antell and slotted home.

Four minutes later, Archie Macphee shot from 18 yards which Antell parried and Shane Sutherland was alert to net the loose ball.

Sutherland then fired home on the turn from a Brian Cameron cross for No 3 on 25 minutes.

Elgin continued to dominate after the break and Sutherland and Gunn both came close to increasing the hosts’ lead.

BERWICK RANGERS 2 ANNAN 0

BERWICK scored after only four minutes when Steven Thomson found the net from close range after Annan failed to clear a mishit effort by Allan Walker.

Thomson was then unlucky with a low shot from distance.

Ben Stirling also blasted over when the ball fell for him.

In 50 minutes, Berwick’s Johnny Fairbairn was shown a red for a tackle on William Robertson.

Rangers hit No 2 on 65 minutes when McKenna poked home from six yards.

STIRLING ALBION 1 CLYDE 1

AFTER a goalless first half, Barry Ferguson’s Clyde went ahead in 72 minutes when Albion full-back Ross Forsyth was short with a header back to Chris Smith and subs Sean Higgins got there first to beat the keeper with a perfectlyjudged lob.

Forsyth redeemed himself seven minutes later when he swept the ball home from a Bryan Hodge corner for his first goal in more than a year.

Late on, Stirling defender Ross Smith picked up a second yellow and was sent off.
