Tips on turning back the clock

-

OUR sister publication No.1 Magazine brings you four common make-up mistakes that can age you. Once you know how to fix them, you will look years younger.

MISTAKE 1 – Cool shades

While there’s no denying that blue tones make brown eyes in particular pop (that’s because they’re on opposite sides of the colour spectrum) they also unfortunately age the eye area. So go for warmth!

Try: Gosh Eyeshadow Quattro in Driftwood 22, £7.99

MISTAKE 2 – Too much tan

As much as we’re encouraging adding warmth to the face in the form of eye shadow and blush, adding warmth through heavy-handed fake tan application is a no-no. Just go for a hint of a tan which looks much more youthful.

Try: Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster, £19. Add a drop to your night cream and wake up with a subtle glow.

MISTAKE 3 – Cakey concealer

Just like with too much powder, the wrong consistency of concealer will not hide fine lines – it’ll magnify them! You want your under-eye concealer to match your skintone exactly (don’t be tempted to go too light) and to have a light-reflective consistency.

Try: Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer, £7.99

MISTAKE 4 – Brow neglect

Just like the hair on our heads, our eyebrow hairs become more sparse with age – so patchy brows will add a decade to you in an instant. So get yourself a brow kit to help shape and fill in your brows.

Try: L’Oreal Paris Brow Artiste Genius Kit, £9.99
