NEWS of an MP laying into a police officer with a baseball bat may sound like it’s from the Eric Joyce school of parliamentary behaviour but, fear not, it was all for a good reason.

A Police Scotland open day in North Lanarkshire saw Motherwell & Wishaw SNP MP Marion Fellows test how tough riot shields are under attack from a baseball bat.

Cops joked they will call her “Slugger” Fellows from now on, given how much force she put into it.
