Police probe shooting in Edinburgh

A MAN is being treated for serious leg injuries after he was shot in a gun attack in the Leith area of Edinburgh.

Police discovered the man after responding to a report of a disturbance in the city just after 11pm on Friday night.

Hewastakento Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, but his condition was later described as not life-threatening.

Detectivessaidtheywere satisfied it was an isolated attack and the public were not in danger.

Theysaidtheywere pursuing various lines of inquiry and appealed for information.

Detective Inspector Alan O’Brien, of Police Scotland, said: “An extensive investigation is under way into this incident.”
