Guide for teachers

-

TEACHERS will get their hands on new guidelines designed to reduce their workload tomorrow.

In June, Education secretary John Swinney said he would give teachers a basic framework around which they could teach in confidence to help close the attainment gap between the richest and poorest students.

But the country’s 48,000 teachers, who backed industrial action over workload concerns, did not get the guidelines in time for the new school year, which began earlier this month.
