“Stalker” to go on trial

THE trial of a man accused of stalking BBC presenter Emily Maitlis by sending her letters and writing to her mother will start on Thursday.

Edward Vines, 45, is also accused of four counts of breaching a restraining order ordering him to keep away from the Newsnight presenter.

He has previously denied the charges, and will be tried at Oxford Crown Court.
