My Missy is such a poser!

-

EVELYN McGUIGAN’S dog loves attention.

And she certainly gets it after a trip to see dog-dyeing expert Danielle.

Posh pup Maltese Missy, now four, has been a client at the salon since she was eight weeks old and loves nothing more than going from scruffy to fluffy. In fact, she has her roots touched up every three months.

“She just loves it,” Evelyn said. “From the minute we pull up outside the salon in the car, she knows where she’s going and gets very excited.”

Mum-of-three Evelyn gives Danielle a free rein when it comes to colours and designs, but requests something different every time – and the more unusual, the better.

“We talk about Missy and her amazing technicolour dreamcoat,” Evelyn laughed. “She’s been every colour in the rainbow.

“Missy has always loved attention and attracts plenty when she goes out with her coloured coat.

“It’s a bit of fun. If it were in any way cruel or I thought she didn’t like it, I wouldn’t do it. But she’s such a poser that she loves getting a new dye done.”

Evelyn says dog-dyeing is a bit like Marmite . . . people either love it or hate it, but the majority of people she and Missy meet on their walks have taken a liking to her colourful canine.

“My teenage son Byron tries to get out of taking her for walks, especially when she has pink ears! Every dog is unique to its owner, so why shouldn’t they look like a one-off too?”
