LA’s new fitness fad: running from selfie-hunters!

-

TYPICAL. Why is it someone always wants a selfie when you’re hot and sweaty after a hike?

And it’s much worse when you’re with two people more famous than you!

Yes, I was out for a walk with pals Gary Barlow and Radio X breakfast show host Chris Moyles last week when two women recognised us.

Well they probably recognised Gary and Chris, to be more accurate!

It must be easy getting fit if you’re those two, what with the amount of selfie-hunters chasing them.

In fact that’s how I got fit – although I’m usually not being chased, I’m always one of the selfie-hunters!

As if I’ve not bragged enough with my lunchtime running club – I have a treat for you next week.

I know it can be difficult to ask for a favour from a friend, but sometimes you just have to pick up the phone and do it. I found myself in that situation a few weeks ago.

“Hello Michael,” I said. “Any chance of doing a wee video with me?”

Luckily for me he said it was no bother – and even luckier for me it was superstar actor Michael Douglas.

I’ve known him for a few years and he’s a great guy.

Brianna and I were in Aspen earlier this year and bumped into Michael and missus Catherine Zeta Jones on the slopes.

Michael invited us for dinner and even paid before I could pretend I forgot my wallet.

Last week Michael came over for a cuppa and a natter at my house.

I’ll bring you more next week – but I can reveal Michael was candid on everything from his battle with cancer to his son’s time in prison.

Cameron was released after nearly seven years for drug offences but is adapting to freedom.

“He is doing great, and I’m sure there’ll be time for him to tell his story when he is ready to,” Michael told me.

“He spent seven years in prison as a nonviolent drug offender, approximately two years in solitary.

“Cameron, now that he is out of prison, definitely wants to get back into acting and had a decent career going before.”

I also asked Michael to do a wee video for the Kiltwalk charity. We thought for a laugh we’d swap identities, which led to Michael attempting a Scottish accent.

He gave it a go – but judging by the accent I think Michael thinks I’m from Swansea!
