A child’s generous love can heal a broken heart

-

TRAGICALLY, Alison lost her baby half-way through her pregnancy.

It took her quite a while to even think about going back to work.

You see, she is a primary school teacher, almost a mother-figure to some of the children and, having just lost her own child...

“I braced myself for THE blood donation service were at the local community centre yesterday.

Walking across the carpark in front of the hall I spotted a very nice Mercedes. A few feet away a bike was chained to the fence.

Once inside, I found it was impossible to tell who had arrived there by Mercedes, who had cycled and, indeed, who had walked.

All I could see was a hall full of people who took the time to freely give their blood in the hope it might help – or even save – people they would never meet.

No matter how we live at other times, no matter what our resources, kindness in other people’s time of need is wonderful equaliser! tears,” she told me, “and there were tears.”

Just not the kind she expected. While she was off, her pupils had decorated the class with brightly coloured butterflies.

Written on each of those butterflies was a message of love and support.

“All my kids had written something. There were notes from pupils who had moved on to older classes.

“And some even wrote messages of love to my baby.”

Ahhh... children! They can break your heart. And they can heal it! NOW, I am all for the police clamping down on people who use mobile phones while driving.

But, I was surprised when my friend got pulled over. It seemed so unlike her. She protested her innocence but the police officer insisted he had seen her lips moving. When she said she was rehearsing a poem, they briefly considered breathalysing her.

She only got out of it by showing them a book of poems with her picture on it.

“Ahhh … you’re a poet?” the officer said, as if she was some strange, exotic creature – and they went on their way shaking their heads.

God bless the people who work hard to keep us safe on the roads. And God bless those fellow travellers who make the journey so much more fun!

When time just flies, We all get too busy, Running here and there, It can make you dizzy; It’s all rush and fluster, From start to the end, So take a little time, To catch up with friends.
