Mila might be a frazzled Mom but she’s no Scrooge

seen a lot of miscasting over the years in Hollywood.

There was all-American cowboy John Wayne as Mongolian conqueror Genghis Khan, and comedy slob Vince Vaughn as psycho killer Norman Bates, for instance.

When I heard the gorgeous Mila Kunis was supposed to be a knackered mum I thought it could end up being another error akin to casting Kevin Costner as Robin Hood.

I don’t remember any of my pals’ maws making it into World’s Sexiest Women lists – not even my mate Daniel McGlinchey’s mum. Sorry, Daniel.

But Mila, star of Jupiter Ascending and one half of a celebrity power couple with Ashton Kutcher, was great in the raucous comedy Bad Moms, in which she played a misbehaving housewife struggling to cope with modern life.

The original struck a chord with mums everywhere – and now there’s a festive sequel, A Bad Moms Christmas, in which Mila stars alongside Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn.

I spoke to them last week and asked about their plans for the festive season.

Mila laughed off reports she had turned Scrooge by banning kids Wyatt and Dimitri from receiving Christmas presents. “This story was taken way out of proportion!” insisted the 34-year-old.

“Kate and I have little babies now and there’s something to be said for desire. Wyatt might say: ‘I really, really want that thing’.

“I want them to have that feeling of need and want. “I also want her to earn it. “Right now, every gift that she’s has gotten has zero meaning. And I don’t need her to have that expectation in life.” Co-star Kristen agreed. “That’s called thoughtful parenting, right there,” she piped up.

Mila’s own mother is keen to be a good parent, too.

“I have the best mum!” she added. “She’ll turn up with a casserole. It’s never for me, it’s always for Ashton.

“She’ll bring me something tiny but the food is always for Ashton.

“Ashton has his favourites and she always gravitates towards his now rather than mine. That’s a little messed up ...”

When I asked how she was going to celebrate the movie coming out she revealed she was going to go straight home to sleep because her three-year-old was up at 6am.

She’s not a bad mum at all, then!
