PARK AND DRIVE

Teide National Park is stunning and the drive up will not disappoint. If you want to go to the rim of Teide volcano you have to book ahead.

Siam Park is a Thai-themed aquatic playground of water slides and adrenalin-pumping rides.

PARROT’S PARADISE

Loro Parque has the world’s largest collection of parrots. Set within dense tropical palm groves, its shows also feature dolphins, orcas and sea lions.

VILLAGE LIFE

Masca is a remote village on a plateau in the Teno Mountains. The road to this spot affords breathtaki­ng views. Hike down the gorge to the beach from where a boat takes you to Los Gigantes.

MOST BEAUTIFUL

Garachico was engulfed in lava by an eruption in 1706. The most picturesqu­e town on the island, swimming in rock pools hewn from the lava is a unique experience.

HERITAGE SITE

La Laguna was once the capital of the island. A Unesco World Heritage site with convents and beautifull­y preserved mansions dating from the 16th, 17th and 18th Centuries.

VOLCANIC TOURS

Cueva del Viento is the largest volcanic tube in the European Union. It runs for 11 miles in a threetiere­d labyrinth of tunnels beneath Icod de los Vinos.

DIVE IN

Clear, warm waters year-round and underwater volcanic columns teeming with marine life make this island an excellent dive destinatio­n.

AMAZING ARCHITECTU­RE

The Auditorio de Tenerife is an architectu­ral gem that gives cruise passengers something to “ooh” over as they sail into Santa Cruz.
