Formartine 12 Fort william 0

-

On six minutes, Formartine were in front when Graeme Rodger laid the ball up to Conor Gethins, whose low shot from 18 yards beat Stephen Lopez.

Six minutes later, Rodger netted with his left foot, nestling into the corner.

Almost straight from kick-off, Rodger was the creator for Scott Barbour, who netted from 12 yards. Garry Wood and young Liam Burnett were the new instigators in 19 minutes, Barbour all alone 12 yards out and doing the business.

Goal No. 5 came in 35 minutes, Barbour volleying past a bemused Lopez. In 39 minutes, Andrew Greig netted a 30-yarder. Two further goals came before the break, Greig crossing from the right, Gethins firing home from 12 yards. Then Barbour made it eight from a Barbour pass.

It was 9-0 on 56 minutes, Kieran Lawrence scoring direct from an inswinging corner. A penalty award in 65 minutes for a foul on Barbour allowed Gethins to clock up his 200th goal in Highland League football.

On 77 minutes, Barbour hit his fifth goal with his back to goal and swivelling to score. For the final goal, Rodger waltzed past several players for his second.

Mackay was denied from the spot after a superb save from John Farquhar.

Joseph Malin had a quiet time in the home goal, but pulled off a solid stop to deny Neale Davidson in the 72nd minute.

On 87 minutes, Gavin Morrison sent a cross into the box and Christopher Hay turned the ball into his own net to give the home side all three points.
