Summer is to roll on

-

Scotland’s milder than normal summer could last until October.

Government weathermen have told councils and emergency services to prepare for hotter-thanaverage UK temperatures over the next three months.

This year is twice as likely as usual to have the hottest August to October period since before 1981, the Met Office forecast shows.

A spokesman cautioned: “There is no strong signal, however, that the dry weather we enjoyed through June and July will return.”
