George RR Martin’s epic fantasy series, A Song Of Ice And Fire, debuted with the release of the first novel, A Game Of Thrones. The series has been translated into more than 20 languages and, by 2011, Forbes estimated Martin was the 12th highest-earning author worldwide with sales of $15 million.
