Jumbo can be a Major success for Ryan stable

- By reg Moore SPORT@SUNDAYPOST.COM

Kevin Ryan’s string are running well, and Major Jumbo can thrive from the stable’ s well-being in Chester’s Listed sprint.

The four- year- old is unfortunate not to follow up, after winning a five-furlong Class 3 Newmarket handicap in April.

Last time, the selection was running on late at Ascot, when two- and- a- quarter lengths third to Spring Loaded.

Today’s six furlongs – from the number box – should suit better, as it almost did when two necks third to Bacchus in the Wokingham.

Rockin Roy has the best of the weights in the Conditions Stakes over the same trip, mainly down to a close up finish in Ascot’s Windsor Castle Stakes.

He was only four-and-aquarter lengths behind Soldier’s Call, who ran well in defeat in Thursday’ s Molecomb at Goodwood.

Since then, Rockin Roy has won novices at Chepstow and Wolverhampton, and today’s in- between grade should be realistic.

Ezanak was the main victim when Pam Sly’s Haafapiece swooped late to win the money, at Worcester 10 days ago when looking the winner.

It’s the third time Dan Skelton’s novice has been a runner-up, but he seems to be more unlucky than in any way short of resolution.
