Mcginn is delighted

Niall Mcginn reckons Aberdeen can today provide their fans with the perfect Europa League hangover cure – by dumping Rangers at Pittodrie.

The Dons crashed out of the Europa League in heartbreak­ing fashion in Burnley on Thursday night.

Their extra- time defeat left fans and players reeling.

But wing king Mcginn reckons facing Steven Gerrard’s Rangers in today’s season opener is the perfect way to bounce back – and lay d ow n a marker campaign ahead.

“Last s e a s o n w e w e re obviously disappoint­ed not to beat Rangers, so there could be no better start to the league campaign than having Rangers at home,” he said.

“The squad is as strong as ever. Against Burnley, we had a strong bench, when you see guys like Scotty Wright coming on, and Dom Ball, Chris Fo r re s t e r, w i t h St e p h e n Gleeson there as well.

“We’re going to need that squad over the course of the season. Once Sunday comes, we’ll be up for the game and ready to go again.
