Train back on track

The first of sev­eral new trains taken out of ser­vice over a fault is back in op­er­a­tion, it was an­nounced yes­ter­day.

Scotrail said the train was one of three Hi­tachi class-385 elec­tric trains taken off com­muter routes af­ter an is­sue with the brake con­trol sys­tem was de­tected ear­lier this month.

The seven-car­riage train be­gan op­er­at­ing again be­tween Ed­in­burgh and Glas­gow via Falkirk High.

The other two trains are ex­pected to re­turn next week.
