ROTHES 0 ANNAN ATHLETIC 1

A moment of magic from David Wilson saw the deadlock broken before the interval with a wonderful curling free-kick that found the top corner of the net.

It was to be enough to send Annan into the third round draw.

Despite Steve Macdonald’s men threatening on occasion, they found it difficult to break down the League 2 defence, Martin Macdonald going closest with a header.

E KILBRIDE 3 SPARTANS 1

East Kilbride got cup revenge over their Lowland rivals, but they had to fight after Adam Corbett fired home a 10-yarder after five minutes when Kilby failed to clear.

But a double from Craig Malcolm – a goal on either side of the interval – gave Kilby a boost.

His first came in the 39th minute and then he finished off a BJ Coll free-kick from close in.

In the 69th minute, Paul Woods set up Sean Winter to shoot home from 12 yards.

EDINBURGH CITY 1 CIVIL SERVICE STROLLERS 0

Strollers made a bright start and Stephen Froud was not far away with a 12-yard shot, then Andy Mair also came close.

City responded and Graham Taylor was just inches wide.

David Churchill had a chance, but tugged his shot wide of the post.

Robbie Mcintyre finally made the breakthrough for City with a terrific free-kick on 70 minutes.

ELGIN CITY 2 WHITEHILL 0

On-loan Ross County striker Greg Morrison bundled in the home opener on 14 minutes after Whitehill keeper Ross Jardine parried a Shane Sutherland drive.

Marc Molloy missed a great chance to level when he burst through, but hit the side netting.

On half-time, a Matthew Cooper cross was nodded in by Darryl Mchardy for No. 2.

The visitors had Kevin-lee Keane sent off for interrupting Scott Miller’s run on goal.

ALBION ROVERS 0 FORMARTINE 2

Archie Macphee gave Formartine a dream start when he found the net with a low 20-yard shot.

Lewis Mclear failed to level on 53 minutes when Graeme Rodger handled in the box, but his spot-kick was saved by Main.

After Albion’s Gary Fisher was sent off for a second yellow card, Formartine’s Andy Greig netted a 77th-minute penalty after Garry Wood was fouled.

After the match, Albion announced manager John Brogan left the club in the wake of the this defeat.

EDUSPORT ACADEMY 1 FRASERBURGH 2

The Highland League side’s long journey to Galabank paid off as they edged out Edu, who put up a fighting display.

They held out until the 51st minute when William West split the defence and put Burgh ahead.

Then Greg Buchan doubled their lead with a 79th minute goal.

However, they had to fight to keep their lead and it was a nervous end after Calvin Cowie pulled one back for Edu in the last minute.

GALA FAIRYDEAN 2 EAST STIRLINGSHIRE 0

It was end-to-end stuff early on, with Paul Mccafferty almost putting Shire ahead in the 15th minute, but his shot went past. Then Andy Rodgers had a great chance, but shot inches wide.

On 31 minutes, Ruari Paton broke the deadlock when he shot home.

Andy Rodgers should have equalised on the hour, but the Gala keeper saved.

The home side sure of victory when Ricky Miller hit a second for the Fairies with seven minutes left.
