The BBC obviously spied another hit when it decided to follow up The Night Manager with another John Le Carre adaptation.

But while the modern-day Night Manager was all glitz and glamour, this 1970s-set affair is a very different beast. It’s downbeat, a bit grim and VERY brown and beige.

I don’t really remember the period like that – but the colours and fashions are shocking!

Florence Pugh lights it up, though, as the agent lured back into a murky world and, at the end, sent off in a car packed with explosives.
