Ban fireworks? Nic deserves a rocket

After seeing parts of Pollokshields in Glasgow’s Southside being turned into a battle zone on Bonfire Night, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is now backing calls to ban the sale of fireworks.

So the thousands of ordinary folk up and down the country who enjoy setting them off safely with their families, who don’t act irresponsibly and cause misery, mayhem and harm on this night and other celebratory occasions are to be penalised because of the actions of a few rockets and bangers who do.

That is simply not fair. Instead of an overall ban, why not increase the proof of age purchase limit to 25?

Now that’s a sparkling idea.
