Black Stone Cherry

MUSIC KIDS PANTO

-

SEC Centre, Glasgow, tonight

From their home in Glasgow, Kentucky, to a show in Glasgow, Scotland, the southern rock band continues its love affair with the UK, where they are festival headliners and arena stars, whereas at home their fame is more modest.

The quartet is touring in support of their latest album, Family Tree, which gained rave reviews on its release in April.

Special guests are fellow southern rock trio The Cadillac Three and Canadian rockers Monster Truck.

Poggle

The Studio, Edinburgh, Wed to Dec 24

This Barrowland Ballet production is a past nominee for a Critics Award For Theatre In Scotland in the category of Best Children’s Show.

Described as a funny, intimate and delightful dance theatre piece which takes young kids on a visual and musical journey of discovery, it is aimed at children aged six months to five years.

Vince wants to explore the forest but is too scared to go on his own until he meets Poggle, a friendly creature who takes him on an adventure.

Sleeping Beauty

Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock, until Dec 31

The intimate Inverclyde theatre continues to punch above its weight with its all-star line-up.

Returning yet again are Still Game favourites Jane Mccarry (Isa) and Mark Cox (Tam), alongside Jimmy Chisholm and Lee Samuel.

Jane will be wicked once more as the evil Carabosse while Mark is her sidekick, Cludgie the Henchman.

The pair, who have been friends since drama school, describe the Beacon audience as the warmest they have played for.
