There’s no place in space for me

What would you do if you met Lulu in the ladies’ loo?

-

I had the unexpected pleasure of bumping into Lulu, one of my “sheroes” last week.

I was coming out of the toilets in Edinburgh Airport as she was going in, and you would never expect to meet Lulu in the loos, so I didn’t recognise her at first.

She started asking about Andy and Jamie, and I thought, “This lady looks so like Lulu”, until it email Judy your thoughts at Virgin Galactic seem to be getting closer to launching their space tourism flights.

At around £200,000 for a ticket I won’t be going.

But it’s not just the cost – I don’t like heights and even avoid sitting by the window on a plane.

I guess a ticket to space is the ultimate experience gift, but I tend to avoid those after being given one for an outdoor adventure course.

I invited along my nieces who were then 13, thinking I could just watch them have fun. What I didn’t know was that I would have to do the course with them. With my fear of heights, the zip wires and rope bridges were terrifying. So now, the only experience gift on my Christmas list is a spa day for a lie down and a pamper. dawned that it really was her and I went all goldfish-mouthed.

I love Lulu’s attitude and energy, and the that fact she’s a strong woman from humble beginnings who got to the very top.

She’s in her 70s, still rocking, and still looking fab.

But I must have looked a little flushed!
