Josh Maja struck again to seal a 2-1 win for Sunderland against Bristol Rovers.

The visitors took the lead in the 11th minute through Alex Rodman, but Adam Matthews equalised just before the break.

Within four minutes of the restart, Maja powered in the winner for Sunderland.

Fleetwood Town made it six games unbeaten in the league at Highbury with a 1-0 win over Burton Albion. Ched Evans was impeded by substitute Jake Buxton, and the forward got up to convert from the spot.

Accrington remain bottom of the form table after they slumped to a 3- 0 loss at Southend, for whom Sam Mantom, Simon Cox, and Theo Robinson were on target.

Blackpool’s play- off hopes took a dent at Oxford as they were beaten 2-0.
