A West End Christmas In Falkirk

A host of West End musical performers are set to descend on Larbert for the third annual concert.

Falkirk’s own Kieran Brown will be joined by a selection of Scottish friends who have all played leading roles in London’s Theatrelan­d, including shows such as Les Misérables, We Will Rock You and Wicked.

Those taking part include Donna Hazelton, Sarah Galbraith, Matthew Mckenna and Lisa Anne Wood.

Leah Macrae, best known for playing Ellie Mclean in River City as well as starring in Gary: Tank Commander, leads the cast alongside panto favourites Fraser Boyle and Gary Morrison as the dame and comic.

Leah said: “It was while watching pantomime for the first time that I realised I wanted to become an actress. I often think to myself that panto is an important job because there might be a little version of me sitting there having that realisatio­n for the first time, too.”

The Mother

Pentland Theatre, EICC, Edinburgh, Fri-sat

Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Story Of The Mother, this dance adaptation stars acclaimed prima ballerina, Natalia Osipova, regarded as one of the greatest ballerinas of all time, and Jonathan Goddard, winner of the Critics’ Circle National Dance Award for Best Male Dancer.

As a young, single mother sets out to save her child, she must face impossible trials and cross the line between dreams, reality and life and death itself.
