Head judge Shirley Ballas looked stunning in a white sequined dress for the final last night.
But some fans joked that she had worn a wedding dress after she had revealed she was looking for her Mr Right.
Twice-married Shirley, 58, says she’d like to be part of the so-called “Strictly curse” which has resulted in several established relationships ending and new ones beginning as a result of the show.
She said: “I shall wave my wand and cast my spell. That Strictly curse hasn’t hit me yet. Hello, anyone out there? I’m single.”
Meanwhile, producers are delighted with viewing figures for this series with 11 million fans tuning in every weekend. But it wasn’t just the costumes and routines that gripped viewers.
A kiss between Seann Walsh and his dance partner Katya Jones, who is married, was captured by a photographer.
And the pair apologised in separate statements, saying it was a “one-off mistake.” Walsh, who was dumped by actress Rebecca Humphries, said on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two: “We had a couple of drinks and made a huge mistake and I regret it deeply.”
Then there was the embarrassment of Red Dwarf actor Danny John-jules being eliminated from the show following reports of an argument between him and his dance partner Amy Dowden.
