There are few composers whose film scores are as iconic and memorable as the works of John Williams.

The list is huge – from Spielberg classics such as Jaws, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Schindler’s List and ET, to blockbuste­rs like Superman, Harry Potter, Born On The Fourth Of July and Star Wars.

The Scottish Concert Orchestra performs the music with Pete Harrison conducting.

Wendy And Peter Pan

Follow the fearless Wendy as she flies with Peter to Neverland – a world of dastardly pirates, feisty fairies and raucous lost boys.

This adaptation by Ella Hickson aspires to have all the magic and wonder of JM Barrie’s original, as Wendy and Peter fly together above the rooftops to Neverland.

There they find all is not well in the kingdom of the Lost Boys, as the villainous Captain Hook wreaks havoc.

Recommende­d for ages 5+.

Holmes & Watson

Released on Boxing Day

An all-star cast provides a comedic take on the famed literary characters, Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, as they use their brilliant minds to stop rival Moriarty from assassinat­ing The Queen.

Will Ferrell is Holmes and John C. Reilly is Dr Watson, while support comes from Rebecca Hall, Ralph Fiennes, Hugh Laurie, Rob Brydon and Kelly Macdonald.

It’s the latest film from writer-director Ethan Cohen, who also wrote Tropic Thunder and Men In Black 3.
