LIP TIPS

What’s the secret to luscious lips? And how do you create a pout to be proud of? They’re the questions on everyone’s lips. But what are the best products for long-lasting colour and super smooth finish? We puckered up to put some to the test...

Burt’s Bees Get the Lip Look, £14.99

The tinted lip balm in this duo smells and feels great and can be used on its own for a splash of colour and moisture. But put the lipstick on top for a more formal look. Lasts ages.

Dr Lipp Tint, £6.99

Using 100% natural ingredients, this subtle tint promises to moisturise and hydrate your lips, as well as providing a glossy colour. The balm was very thick and a little hard to get out of the tube on first use, but once it was on we couldn’t fault the finish. We also love the fact it’s cruelty free.

Rodin Luxury Lipstick, £28

Not only does this lipstick boast beautiful packaging but the product glides on super-smooth, leaving the perfect finish. The light pink colour we tested creates the perfect “natural” English rose complexion.

Pur Velvet Matte Lipstick, £16

This lipstick certainly lives up to its name with a soft and velvety finish. The matte pink “Obsession” colour spread evenly and was easy to apply, but didn’t last very long.

Beauty Boulevard Matte Lip Liquid, £9.50

This promises long-lasting, powerful colour that glides on for a super-smooth finish – but sadly it doesn’t live up to that. Even after two applications the colour looked uneven and made lips feel dry. It did have staying power though, lasting all day.
