Scientists found that some flowers can “hear” in order to listen out for insects.

The plants make their nectar sweeter if they detect a bee, enticing the bugs to visit more often.

This tactic gives the flowers a better chance of spreading their pollen.

Surely these boffins already know plants can listen though – why do they think corn has ears?
