This exhibition showcases the children’s author’s notebooks and manuscripts that have become classics, including War Horse, Private Peaceful, Kensuke’s Kingdom and Farm Boy.
Also displayed are photos and correspondences that chronicle his creative process and career.
A soundscape introduces the themes in his storytelling such as war and animals. A replica of his creative caravan is reconstructed so visitors can imagine, daydream and pen story ideas.

Navarra String Quartet

Since its formation in 2002 at the Royal Northern College of Music, the Navarra Quartet has built an international reputation as a dynamic and poetic string quartet.
The members have won prizes at international competitions and played in famous venues such as the Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Sydney Opera House. They recently completed a three-year residency at the Birmingham Conservatoire.
