Three dead in Paris blast
Three people died and nearly 50 were hurt after a suspected gas explosion at a Paris bakery yesterday.
Two firefighters and a Spanish woman are said to have died.
In addition, 10 people were in a critical condition while 37 others were less seriously injured.
The Spanish woman was reportedly a tourist who was staying in a hotel near the bakery where the explosion took place.
Firefighters pulled injured victims from windows and evacuated residents as smoke billowed over Rue de Trevise in the 9th arrondissement of northcentral Paris, a mile north of Notre-dame cathedral.
Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said: “Unfortunately the human toll is particularly serious.”
