LOCHEE UNITED are on course for the Super League title after beating CARNOUSTIE 4-0.

The Gowfers held out for 32 minutes but two goals in three minutes from Grant Lawson put Lochee in easy street. Dougie Cameron cracked in a free-kick in 62 minutes to make it three and Connor Birse completed the rout in 82 minutes.

FORFAR WE deserved their 3-0 win at KENNOWAY. Mike Mcilravey gave them the lead in 35 minutes and Graeme Hart stuck away a second five minutes later. Mcilravey fired in a third in 65 minutes.

THORNTON’S 4-0 win at KIRRIE was a bit harsh on the home side but the Fifers’ clinical finishing won the day. Garry Thomson scored a brace and Jimmy Shields and Andy Adam were also on target.

VIOLET were no match for NORTH END in the North League with the league leaders strolling to a 3-0 victory. A Garry Wallace own goal gifted the Dokens the lead in seven minutes and Gary Archibald made it two from a penalty in 34 minutes after Violet’s Lawrie Mitchell was red-carded. The Dokens continued their domination in the second half with Liam Mcartney cracking in a third in 52 minutes.

BROUGHTY ATHLETIC beat DOWNFIELD 6-2 in the Thorntons Property Cup. Stewart Mcconnachi­e netted a brace for the Fed with their other goals coming from Josh Skelly, John Roberts, Marc Scott and Brad Smith.

TAYPORT led BLAIRGOWRI­E 6-1 after only 35 minutes in the Consolatio­n League Cup and eventually went on to win 8-2 with Dayle Robertson bagging four of the goals.

Two Lee Celeantano goals for GLENROTHES paved the way for a 2-1 win over KIRKCALDY YM.

In the North Super League, STONEHAVEN have been relegated after a 2-0 home defeat by HERMES. Dawson and Macklin were on target for the visitors.

MONTROSE ROSELEA had a good 1-0 win at CULTER thanks to a penalty from Rae, confirming a third-place finish for the Angus club.

In the west, the chase for the Mcbookie. com Premiershi­p title has heated up after AUCHINLECK TALBOT defeated long time leaders HURLFORD UNITED 2-0 at Beechwood.

A first-half double from Jamie Glasgow sealed Auchinleck’s success that moved them to within seven points of their visitors with six games in hand.

POLLOK sit third after their 4-0 win over visitors CLYDEBANK with goals from Stuart Mccann and Adam Forde having the Newlandsfi­eld men in control after 24 minutes.

Forde and Stefan Mccluskey completed the scoring.
