■ LINLITHGOW ROSE faced a late challenge from PRESTON ATHLETIC in the William Hill Scottish Cup, but they held on for a 2-1 victory. After a goalless first half, Sean Slaven gave Rose the lead in 49 minutes, and Danny Smith doubled their lead in 56 minutes. Preston pulled one back in 62 minutes, but couldn’t force an equaliser.

■ DUNDONALD BLUEBELL had the day’s big result when they held the mighty AUCHINLECK TALBOT to a 2-2 draw, with Talbot forced to come from behind to net a late penalty equaliser.

■ PENICUIK showed no mercy to EASTHOUSE LILY and ran out 6-1 winners. Sean Stewart stole the honours with a hat-trick, with the other three scored by Aaron Sommervill­e, Sam Jones and Joe Viola. Graeme Young netted a consolatio­n for the home side.

■ CAMELON were worthy 4-0 winners over NEWTON STEWART. Conor Mckenzie gave them the lead, then Tiwi Daramola made it two. Then, just to make sure, Connor Mcmullan added a late double.

■ GLENROTHES came out on top in a Fife derby against CROSSGATES in the Alex Jack Cup. Pat Calderwood gave the Glens a first-half lead, and John Martin made sure with a second after the break.

■MUSSELBURG­H were in top form against PEEBLES ROVERS and ran out 6-0 winners. Darren Downie scored the first two and this was followed by a double from Mathu King. The other goals were scored by Nathan Evans and Connor Thomson.

■ NEWTONGRAN­GE were outgunned by BO’NESS, with the BU’S easing their way to a 5-1 victory. Fraser Keast bagged a double, with Allan Mckenzie, Devon Jacobs and a Brian Morgan penalty also finding the net. Kayne Paterson, from a penalty, was the home scorer.
