A solitary first-half counter from Max Ewan gave NAIRN COUNTY the points against visiting BRORA RANGERS – their fourth straight victory – Max Ewan blasting home from 25 yards.

WICK ACADEMY went down 2-1 at home to BUCKIE THISTLE. Richard Macadie got the injury-ravaged hosts off to the perfect start when he slotted in early on. But Wick couldn’t maintain their fast start and Buckie equalised midway through the first half thanks to Andrew Macaskill’s first goal of the season. The Jags grabbed the winner 18 minutes from time when former Brora Rangers striker Scott Graham evaded his marker to give Buckie a fourth win of the season.

HUNTLY lost 3-1 to visiting ROTHES, who parted company with manager Steve Macdonald after the match with the midweek loss to Fort William still stinging. Former Speysider Ash Ballam headed into his own goal on his Huntly debut. However, Chris Herd, Jack Maley and Steven Anderson netted for Rothes.

FRASERBURGH beat FORT WILLIAM 6-3 with hat-tricks from Sean Butcher and Paul Campbell (1 pen). Roddy Kennedy, Ross Gunn and Jordan Andrew scored for Fort.

Dean Donaldson’s KEITH came from behind to beat Turriff 2-1 thanks to a pair of super subs. The visitors had taken a half-time lead from a penalty by Michael Ewen, but Grant Thomson and Scott Gray secured the points.

FORMARTINE UNITED got the better of visiting CLACHNACUDDIN 5-1, thanks mainly to a Scott Lisle hattrick. Gary Mcgowan and Garry Wood also netted, with Clach’s counter coming from Scott Dunnt.

It was one-way traffic as hosts FORRES MECHANICS demolished STRATHSPEY THISTLE 7-1 with goals from Allan Macphee scoring four goals. Andy Macrae, Stuart Soane and Callum Howarth were also on the scoresheet, as was Scott Morrison for the Jags.

Two goals in a three-minute burst either side of the hour mark from Mark Souter and Sam Burnett saw INVERURIE LOCOS rack up a fourth successive win – a 2-0 success at LOSSIEMOUTH.
